Consumer electronics distribution
Eastern Vyapar has distributed Sony consumer electronics in Assam and the North East since 1994, making it one of the longest-standing Sony partners in the region. Over the years the company has added brands across televisions, audio, air conditioning and home appliances, and supplies them to dealers in Guwahati, across Assam and in parts of Meghalaya.
The company handles the full distributor role: stocking, dealer appointments, credit, logistics and brand activity in the market. Its network today reaches more than 150 Sony dealers across 44 towns and more than 140 Kelvinator dealers across 37 towns.

Electronics retail and business supply
NRS Mercantile Services operates Sony Center on GS Road, an exclusive Sony store in Guwahati's main commercial street, under the Sony Center format promoted by Sony India. The store opened in July 2000 and has been one of Sony India's top-performing retail stores since.
In September 2020 the company opened NRS Techno in the same building, a store for mobiles, laptops and IT products, televisions and home appliances.
Alongside retail, NRS Mercantile runs a B2B desk that supplies hotels, offices, schools and other institutions across the Northeast, from single products to complete room setups with installation.

Fitness and grooming
Wares and Wants has run the Gold's Gym franchise in Guwahati since 2010, from a self-owned 10,000 sq. ft. facility in a prime part of the city. The gym has more than 1,000 active members and has been named Gym of the Year among more than 100 Gold's Gyms in India five times, in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2017 and 2018. It also received the award for Best Customer Service in 2015.
In 2025 the company opened Femina Flaunt Studio Salon in the same building, offering hair, skin, nail and grooming services.

Commercial displays and real estate
Mercantile Marketing India built the group's mobile phone business. It distributed Nokia across Assam from 2003 to 2011 and was the prime distributor for Samsung Mobile in Assam from 2011 to 2019, building a network of 50 distributors and more than 3,000 direct and indirect dealers, with a combined turnover of about ₹2,500 crore over 15 years.
Today the company is the authorised regional distributor for LG Information Display (LFD) products in North East India, supplying commercial displays to businesses and institutions. It is also co-developing The Peak, a retail, office and rooftop dining building on GS Road, Guwahati, opposite the Assam Secretariat and next to Aurus Mall, as a joint venture.
The Peak has about 220,000 sq. ft. of space: double-height showrooms with wide frontage on the lower floors, offices above, and restaurants with open terraces on the top floor.

Food grains wholesale
Purbanchal Enterprises has traded food grains wholesale since 1996. The firm deals in grains, pulses, edible oils and sugar, and supplies more than 400 retailers across the Northeast.
Three decades in the agri-commodities trade have given the business steady sourcing relationships and a working knowledge of how demand moves through the year in the region.

Progressive Alliance
Warehousing
Progressive Alliance owns and operates the group's warehousing: two pre-engineered steel (PEB) warehouses at Rhino Industrial Park, Gauripur, Amingaon. The site is about 1 km from the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu, with easy road links to Guwahati and the rest of Assam.
Both warehouses have loading docks, paved yards that take full-size trucks, fire safety systems and security on site. They have previously been leased to a national paints manufacturer for its regional operations, and suit brands and distributors who need space close to Guwahati.

Where the group began
Goalpara and Bongaigaon Roller Flour Mills
The group's roots are in flour milling. Bongaigaon Roller Flour Mills was set up in 1976 in Bongaigaon, Lower Assam, as a partnership venture, and was among the first roller flour mills in the state.
A second partnership, Goalpara Roller Flour Mills Ltd, followed in 1989 at Amingaon, near Guwahati. Both mills are fitted with machinery from Poland and the Czech Republic, and are known for atta, maida, suji and bran. The family is a partner in both mills.
